CCNA Books – Which is Best in the UK?

Just like in the MCSE certification industry, the CCNA certification arena is dominated by 2 CCNA books used by tens of thousands of CCNA network students worldwide.

These books belong to Cisco Press and Sybex. Materials from one of these two books heavily influence the content of most CCNA courses in the UK.

Both are good but I recommend the use of Todd Lammle Sybex books because he is much easier to understand than the technical jargon that Cisco Press use.

That being said, according to some forums people like Cisco Press books but they say it is more technical. Both books are roughly the same price at £36.99. However we have included Todd Lammle book for Free in our CCNAPRO CCNA Study package.

In the past we have tested both the Cisco Press books and the Sybex books. Our students voted Sybex hands down as their preferred book, however some of our students found it helpful to read through the ICND1 and ICND2 books from Cisco Press then read the Sybex book. However reading one or the other is perfectly fine.

The Sybex books go right into it as do Cisco Press books. However for CCNAPRO we prefer Sybex books because what you are really getting is a certification kit complete with pdfs, flash cards and more CCNA exam questions. The book also combine well with our CCNA cram sheet.

You will get certified as long as you combine the self study CCNA guide with CCNA online training and CCNA Lab simulator so that you get the skill to do the CCNA jobs.
