This article is the complete
CCNA guide to the UK exam process
They say that the pain of childbirth is wiped away the minute you hold
your newborn baby in your arms but what about the pain of taking your
CCNA exams? There are a few little things that you can do to make your the process easier.
You probably read the results of my
CCNA Self Study Survey where I addressed the concerns of learners wanting a
CCNA Network Certification but were too scared to get started due to unfounded fears and false myths that they heard.
You have to spend weeks of study getting ready for them and sweat
through 90 minutes of actually taking them. Then you have your results,
which is given immediately after taking your exam!
Follow this
CCNA exam
process and we guarantee that you won’t let the panic of the exam get
the better of you. Get ready in advance, keep a clear head on the day
and no doubt you’ll be one step closer to becoming a successful
certified network professional.
Studying the Correct Subjects
The most important part of preparing for your exam is studying the correct subjects.
Review your CCNAPRO
CCNA Online
training package again. Look back over the topics you learned during
Aaron video instructor lectures, review your questions, re-read your
notes, answer questions in your transcripts and practice your skills
using our
CCNA lab simulations.
Also do not forget to consult your
CCNA Books. And remember……
Practice, Practice and Practice before taking your exams.
Create the conditions for Perfect Revision
Once you know what to study, concentrate on how you study. Remember:
- To wear loose, comfortable clothes while you study.
- To study in a well lit, quiet and cool room.
- To eat before studying so you aren’t distracted by cravings or rumblings.
- To turn off the television or radio while you study.
- To study a little bit every night to avoid cramming the night before the exam.
- To predict and answer questions that may come up on the exam (this
comes taking copious amounts of exam questions using our test
simulators or recommended third party IT Training test engines.
- To devise and answer different types of questions, including:
- Multiple choice.
- True or false.
- Fill In The Blank.
- Simulated based exams
- To study with a partner or group – if you won’t distract each other.
- To purchase extra study materials if you need a little extra help.
- To make a final, one page “review sheet” that you can study in your
final moments before the exam. Just make sure you discard it properly
so no one can accuse you of cheating!

Start your exam calmly by preparing for it from the moment you wake up that day. Be sure to arrive at your exam:

Entering the Exam Room
When you enter the exam room, take a few minutes to get set up before
diving into the exam questions. Your exams are computer based. Remember
that these final moments are your last chance to get ready, so:
- Put your name and other identification information on your exam/answer screen.
- Read the directions for taking the exam.
- Make a brief plan about how you will divide your time between sections.
- Take a few deep breaths every time you feel nervous or panicked.
- Keep rest breaks just short enough to recharge and move on.
Any exams whether it is CCNA, CCIE or MCSE can be nerve-wracking, but
unless you want to fail your IT training course there is nothing to it
but to battle through them and move on. Remember as a Cisco Associate
you will have a choice of thousands networking jobs to choose from.
If you feel nervous about upcoming exams, remind yourself that
you are not expected to know everything, you need only prove that you
can grasp the subject matter and add your own analysis to certain
topics. If the worst does happen and you do fail an exam, the good news
is that we will let you retake them later.
Don’t aim for this, but think of it as a Plan B – always there if you need it. Good luck!
