SURVEY RESULTS: What Learners Look for in a CCNA Self Study UK course

I did a survey earlier this month. I asked my UK students why they took a CCNA self study course. Here are some of the typical answer’s my students gave me.

• “To be able to secure and apply for CCNA jobs ”
• “To become a network manager”
• “To open up career opportunity”
• “To gain CCNP or CCIE certification”
• “To progress my career in telecoms”
• “They relish the chance to become a network engineer”

Do you see the common thread here? These answers is all about personal career progress. My students want more money and they want to become better at their job. CCNA for a lot of people is great way to push their career forward.

My students understand that when you become certified and receive you certificate no one can ever test your expertise as a CCNA Network Associate.

In addition my students understand that employers network systems must be insured. However here’s the thing that works in your favour.

No insurer will dare to insure a Cisco computer network if an unqualified person administered or created the network. Employers must only use qualified people. This is where owning a CCNA really comes into it’s own.

As a CCNA, the employer feels safe in the knowledge that you are qualified to do the job and consequently their network is covered by insurance
